7 BROTHERS
a film by sebastian winkels
“if you are looking for the truth, you must ask seven brothers.” chinese proverb
seven brothers (born between 1929 and 1945) come to a neutral space to individually tell their family’s story from mülheim. seven different paths in life attest to a rarely heard generation whose childhood ended or just began with the “stunde null“ in 1945.
an intimate mosaic between the brothers emerges forming a type of family universe mirroring german history in an unusual way. a documentary experiment! storytelling at its best.
